Falk-Steelflex

Quick, Easy Installation… Replace-In-Place Design

Falk-Steelflex flexible taper grid couplings . For torque up to 932.100 Nm.

The grid is the wearing member of a Steelflex coupling and it is a fraction of the complete coupling cost. Tapered grids are accessible through the quickly removable cover.
The replace-in-place design of the replacement grids allows them to be dropped in without the need to remove or reposition hubs or realign shafts as required with gear couplings and many elastomer designs.
When coupling-connected equipment must be moved, the job takes longer and costs a lot more.

Equipment Protection Against Shaft Misalignment

The grid is free to rock, pivot and float within the hub teeth. Generous misalignment capacity is provided without producing detrimental bearing side loads created by other couplings.

Operation

The disc brake MATEC MD are negative brakes (spring loaded), i.e. the braking force is obtained by means of a spring that, through a suitable system of levers, transmits its amplified action to the braking pads, where the linings are fitted. An electrohydraulic or pneumatic thrustor makes an apposite force to the spring load , causing the pads to open, therefore the brake to release.
The braking force given by the linings against the disk can be modulated by adjusting the spring.
Braking torque changes depending on braking force modulation.

Operation

The drum brakes WESTCAR type A are negative.
The braking force is obtained by means of a spring that, through a suitable system of levers, transmits its amplified action to the braking pads.
